A market-leading UK manufacturing business in a highly specialised engineering sector is seeking a Compliance & Quality Manager to strengthen its quality, governance and operational discipline as it continues an impressive growth trajectory.

Summary: The company designs and manufactures premium, high-performance equipment on-site in Hampshire, selling directly in the UK. With exceptional cashflow, a full order book heading into next year, and significant room to scale manufacturing capacity, the environment is fast-paced, practical, and commercially strong.
As the business has grown rapidly, this role is to take ownership of quality and compliance end-to-end processes and bring clarity, control, and consistency. Quality is foundational to the company’s reputation, product reliability and future growth ambitions. Duties of the Compliance & Quality Manager:
- This role holds end-to-end accountability for quality, compliance, governance and continuous improvement across the manufacturing operation.
- Owning and leading the business’s Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring it is robust, current and aligned with customer expectations, regulatory requirements and overall business strategy.
- Developing, implementing and maintaining quality policies, procedures and standards to ensure products consistently meet specification, safety and performance requirements.
- Acting as the primary point of contact for external regulatory bodies, leading third-party audits including ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
- Coordinating and governing all ISO compliance requirements, ensuring audit readiness, effective controls and zero major non-conformances.
- Designing and executing a structured internal audit programme, identifying non-conformances, operational gaps and areas of risk.
- Leading Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) activity, including root cause analysis of product failures or process deviations to prevent recurrence.
- Evaluating, approving and monitoring supplier quality performance, including supplier audits and manufacturing site risk assessments.
- Working closely with suppliers to resolve quality issues, improve consistency and strengthen quality feedback loops across the supply chain.
- Supporting and improving the end-to-end warranty process, reducing warranty claims and maximising supplier recoveries.
- Partnering with operational leaders to embed high standards across production, balancing quality integrity with commercial delivery.
- Working alongside the Process & SOP Consultant to embed new and existing SOPs, ensuring documented processes translate into consistent shop-floor behaviours.
- Identifying gaps where new procedures are required and leading their development, implementation and training.
- Reviewing and analysing quality performance data, KPIs and cost of quality metrics, identifying trends and improvement opportunities.
- Driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, repeatability and product reliability.
- Integrating health, safety and environmental compliance into governance and operating processes, promoting a zero-harm culture.
- Delivering quality and compliance training across the business to foster a culture where quality is everyone’s responsibility.
- Providing structured, meaningful quality and compliance reporting to senior leadership to support decision-making as the business scales.
Ideal candidate skills:
- Proven experience within manufacturing quality and compliance, ideally in engineered products, machinery or complex assemblies.
- Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001, with exposure to ISO 14001 and related standards.
- Experience owning, improving and governing a Quality Management System.
- Confidence leading audits, investigations and corrective actions.
- The ability to influence and educate operational teams without being bureaucratic.
- A practical, hands-on mindset suited to a fast-growing manufacturing environment.
- The capability to balance structure and governance with commercial pragmatism.
