Procurement Heads are excited to be working with a major European snack company who are looking for a Category Manager to manage CAPEX and MRO categories across their UK sites. Our client is looking for a candidate with a strong engineering background and understanding who enjoys working on both the tactical and commercial side of projects. You will lead supplier negotiations, support the engineering team with the installation and commissioning of the production line, as well as onsite support during SAT, FAT and other key milestones throughout the projects, develop category strategies, and ensure cost-effective procurement across multiple countries.
Location: Slough/Nottingham/Leicestershire/Middlesbrough/South Yorkshire/Herefordshire/Leicestershire/Wakefield/Tanfield/East Staffordshire - Hybrid 3 days a week
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement CAPEX & MRO procurement strategies
- Manage supplier relationships and negotiate high-value contracts
- Support project execution (e.g., installations, FAT/SAT phases)
- Collaborate with EU procurement and Engineering teams
- Analyse complex data for decision-making and savings tracking
- Ensure compliance, sustainability, and supply security
Requirements:
- Degree in Engineering or related field (CIPS preferred)
- 4+ years in procurement, ideally within engineering
- Experience in contract management, CAPEX projects, and stakeholder engagement
- Strong Excel/Word skills; valid driving license
