Selby Full-Time No working from home possible

Hours – Part Time / Full Time | Shifts between 9am - 5pm & 8pm - 10pm.

We are looking for a compassionate, reliable and proactive Personal Assistant to join a dedicated support team in Selby.

The person you will be supporting is a young, outgoing woman who enjoys a busy and varied lifestyle. Her interests include music, films, TV, reading, shopping, socialising, arts and crafts, baking, cooking and keeping up with social media.

She is passionate about sharing her experiences of living with cerebral palsy and enjoys creating book-related content for YouTube and other social media platforms. Supporting her creativity and independence is an important part of this role.

She has quadriplegic cerebral palsy and requires full physical support with aspects of her care and mobility. However, she is the main decision-maker in her support, and it is essential that her choices, preferences and independence are respected at all times.

A key aim is to continue developing her confidence and independence, particularly when getting out and about in her accessible vehicle. The right person will know when to provide support and when to step back, encouraging her to do as much as possible for herself.

What will you be supporting her with?

β€’ Personal care, including showering, dressing and skincare.
β€’ Moving and positioning using an H-frame ceiling track hoist.
β€’ Supporting with specialist equipment, including a profiling bed and toileting/shower chair.
β€’ Morning and evening routines.
β€’ Monitoring skin integrity and supporting pressure area care.
β€’ Driving and supporting access to the community using an accessible mobility van.
β€’ Encouraging independence and promoting choice.
β€’ Providing reassurance and emotional support.
β€’ Supporting social activities, appointments and hobbies including books, baking, shopping, arts and crafts and social media content creation.
β€’ Working closely with family and the wider support team.

About You

We're looking for someone who is:

β€’ Compassionate, patient and respectful.
β€’ Comfortable providing personal care and physical support.
β€’ Confident with moving and handling, including ceiling track hoists.
β€’ Calm, adaptable and able to respond positively to changing situations.
β€’ Passionate about promoting independence and person-centred support.
β€’ A good communicator who listens and follows guidance.
β€’ Happy supporting someone with an active social life.
β€’ Experienced in care or supporting someone with physical disabilities – desirable but not essential, as full training can be provided.
β€’ A full, clean UK driving licence holder who is confident driving an accessible mobility vehicle.

What Matters Most

We're looking for someone who can build a relationship based on trust, respect and genuine partnership. This role is about supporting someone to live life on her own terms while encouraging confidence, independence and choice every day.

If you enjoy helping people achieve their goals and making a genuine difference, we'd love to hear from you.

Why You'll Love Working With Us

β€’ Fully paid DBS check.
β€’ Refer a Friend Scheme – Earn up to Β£500.
β€’ Employee Wellbeing Programme with counselling and helplines.
β€’ Employee Discount Scheme for shopping, fuel and everyday essentials.
β€’ L.O.V.E. Recognition Scheme celebrating your achievements.
β€’ Surprise Gifts of Kindness throughout the year.
β€’ "In The Loop" App to stay connected with the wider team.
β€’ Ongoing training and development.

If you are caring, dependable and positive, this is a rewarding opportunity to support someone to live independently, pursue the things they love and enjoy a full and active life. Join a friendly team where your support genuinely makes a difference every day.
