About the Role
This is a varied and rewarding role, combining time spent supporting our services across Selby and Harrogate with two days each week based at our office in Thirsk.
You will be an important part of our operational management team, working closely with the Registered Manager to ensure excellent standards of care, effective governance and consistent service delivery.
You will also support staff development, encourage learning and promote a culture that is open, supportive and fair.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead by example in delivering high-quality, person-centred care and support.
- Support the creation, implementation and review of individual care plans.
- Ensure care plans are understood and followed effectively by the team.
- Supervise, coach, mentor and support Personal Assistants and Personal Health Assistants.
- Support staff to develop their skills, knowledge and confidence.
- Assist the Registered Manager with operational governance and service delivery.
- Help maintain high standards of care, safeguarding and compliance.
- Manage rota requirements and support staffing across the 24-hour care cycle.
- Provide on-call support when required.
- Build strong relationships with the people we support, their families, colleagues and other professionals.
What We're Looking For
We are looking for someone who is passionate about making a genuine difference and can combine compassionate care with confident leadership.
You will ideally have
- Experience supporting people with complex health and/or social care needs.
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience within a care or support environment.
- Experience managing, guiding or mentoring teams.
- The ability to create and implement care plans and ensure teams work effectively in line with them.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- A positive, proactive approach to leadership.
- A genuine commitment to delivering outstanding care.
- A full driving licence and access to your own car, which is essential due to working across Selby and Harrogate.
