The Opportunity

Procter Street Resourcing is partnering with a leading Principal Contractor to recruit an experienced Civils Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of highways and public realm schemes across the UK. This is a key leadership role for a delivery-focused professional with the capability to manage projects from early design development through to construction completion and handover.

The Role

  • Take full responsibility for the delivery of complex civils projects within live public environments, ensuring operational excellence throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Lead projects from design coordination through to construction delivery and handover.
  • Manage project programmes, budgets, and resource allocation.
  • Coordinate site teams, subcontractors, and supply chain partners.
  • Maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships throughout delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
  • Oversee NEC contract administration and commercial performance.
  • Drive project performance across highways, streetscape, and public realm schemes.

The Candidate

  • Confident and commercially aware civils professional with a strong background delivering highways and public realm projects for principal contractors.
  • Proven experience managing highways and public realm infrastructure projects.
  • Strong understanding of NEC contracts and project controls.
  • Ability to lead projects from pre-construction through to completion.
  • Experience managing multidisciplinary teams and subcontractors.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Knowledge of utilities coordination, temporary works, and live environments.
