The role:
We are looking for a motivated and ambitious P6 Planner to join our growing team, supporting the planning and successful delivery of major infrastructure and construction projects across multiple sectors. Working closely with senior planners, project teams, and clients, you’ll be involved in developing, maintaining, and analysing project programmes using Primavera P6. You’ll gain exposure to a wide range of projects and planning methodologies while building your technical and commercial understanding within a consultancy setting.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys problem-solving, working collaboratively with project teams, and wants to play a key role in driving successful project outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, update, and maintain project programmes using Primavera P6
- Support the planning and delivery of projects across sectors including infrastructure, civil engineering, utilities, and energy
- Work closely with project managers, engineers, and site teams to gather progress information and update programmes accordingly
- Assist with programme reporting, progress tracking, and schedule analysis
- Identify risks, delays, and programme impacts and support the development of mitigation strategies
- Contribute to tender and bid programmes where required
- Support earned value analysis, look-ahead planning, and critical path reviews
- Attend project meetings and engage with stakeholders to ensure programmes reflect project requirements and progress accurately
- Assist in developing planning standards, templates, and best practices across the business
What are we looking for?
You’ll be proactive, organised, and eager to develop your career in project planning. You’ll enjoy working with project teams, analysing information, and helping deliver complex projects successfully.
As well as:
- 3+ years’ experience using Primavera P6 in a planning environment, OR 5+ years’ experience working within site-based civil engineering or construction roles with exposure to programme management and planning activities
- An understanding of construction methodologies and project delivery within infrastructure or civil engineering sectors
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with project and client teams
- Good analytical and problem-solving abilities with strong attention to detail
- A willingness to learn and develop within a consultancy environment
- Experience interpreting construction programmes, sequencing works, and tracking progress
- Knowledge of NEC contracts and planning processes would be advantageous but not essential
- A positive attitude and ambition to grow your career within planning and project controls
