The role:
We are looking for an experienced and driven Bid Manager to lead and manage high-quality bid and tender submissions across a range of sectors and clients. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys combining strategic bid leadership with strong writing and stakeholder engagement skills. As Bid Manager, you’ll play a central role in securing new business opportunities and strengthening client relationships. You’ll work closely with directors, technical specialists, operational teams, and external partners to develop compelling, client-focused submissions that showcase the breadth of Procter Street’s expertise and capabilities. This role offers the opportunity to work on major infrastructure and construction opportunities across multiple industries, providing real variety and exposure within a growing consultancy environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the planning, coordination, and delivery of high-quality bids, tenders, and framework submissions.
- Write, review, and refine compelling bid content that clearly communicates technical solutions, added value, and win themes.
- Manage the full bid lifecycle from opportunity identification and bid/no-bid decisions through to submission and post-submission feedback.
- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, subject matter experts, and external partners to gather information and drive collaboration.
- Facilitate bid workshops, storyboarding sessions, and review meetings to ensure submissions are aligned, competitive, and client-focused.
- Develop tailored responses for public and private sector opportunities including frameworks, PQQs, SQs, and ITTs.
- Maintain and continuously improve bid libraries, case studies, CVs, and supporting collateral.
- Support wider business development activities and contribute to strategic growth initiatives across the business.
- Ensure all submissions are completed to a high standard, on time, and in line with brand and quality requirements.
What are we looking for?
You’ll be a confident communicator and relationship builder with excellent writing skills and a strong understanding of the bid process. You’ll enjoy working collaboratively across multiple teams and sectors, managing competing priorities, and producing high-quality submissions that make a difference. As well as:
- 3–5+ years’ experience managing bids and tenders within the construction, infrastructure, engineering, or consultancy sectors (highly desirable).
- Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills with the ability to translate technical information into persuasive, client-friendly content.
- Strong stakeholder management and engagement skills with the confidence to work closely with senior leaders and technical teams.
- Experience managing complex tender processes and coordinating multidisciplinary contributions.
- Knowledge of public sector procurement processes including frameworks, SQs, PQQs, and ITTs.
- Excellent organisational and project management abilities with a proactive and solution-focused approach.
- A collaborative mindset and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced consultancy environment.
- Experience working across multiple sectors or clients would be highly advantageous.
