What To Expect:
During your 24-month post-doctoral placement, you will take on real projects that impact some of our most cherished brands. This is your chance to bridge the gap between academic discovery and real-world application, using your scientific expertise to develop technologies and products that touch millions of lives.
You will lead the charge in analytical method development, characterizing breakthrough technologies to tackle consumer challenges. With access to cutting-edge instrumentation, you will generate critical data, uncover new insights, and help create the next generation of Fabric and Home Care solutions. This role is perfect for a scientist who thrives in the lab and is eager to solve complex analytical puzzles.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and execute advanced laboratory experiments focused on volatile and semi-volatile analysis using gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS).
- Develop, validate, and implement innovative analytical methods, particularly utilizing advanced sample introduction techniques like Headspace Solid-Phase Microextraction (HS-SPME) and Thermal Desorption (TD).
- Analyze and interpret complex analytical data to provide actionable insights that guide technology development for our project teams.
- Collaborate closely with a cross-functional team of senior scientists, engineers, and product developers to drive R&D initiatives and achieve key business objectives.
- Take ownership of critical analytical instrumentation, including routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
- Effectively communicate findings through technical reports, data summaries, and presentations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Job Qualifications:
What We Look For:
- You should be currently enrolled in the final year of a PhD program or have recently completed a PhD (within the last 1-2 years) in Analytical Chemistry, Chemistry, or a closely related scientific field.
- Demonstrated expertise in gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS), with a strong preference for 3+ years of hands-on experience gained during your post-graduate studies or relevant work.
- Direct experience with advanced sample introduction techniques for GC-MS, specifically HS-SPME and/or TD measurements.
- A solid foundation in analytical chemistry principles and a genuine passion for hands-on laboratory work.
- Academic excellence throughout your education, with a proven track record of independent problem-solving and method development.
- Demonstrated technical curiosity, creativity, innovation, initiative, leadership, collaboration, and communication skills.
- Evidence of achievements, particularly in leadership roles during academic and/or non-academic activities, internships, or short work experiences is a plus.
