P&G is a leading company in the manufacture of Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG), making some of the world’s best loved brands like Gillette, Fairy and Oral B. Here in Manchester, we've been making P&G products at our Trafford Park site for the past 90 years and after some exciting new investments are looking to recruit motivated technicians to join our Pampers manufacturing team.
We are looking for skilled individuals with a proven track record of people and technical leadership in a fast-moving manufacturing setting to quickly take on senior technician roles in our production department. Senior technicians take the lead in diagnosing and resolving complex mechanical and process issues, executing maintenance and breakdown repairs, and collaborating with support departments to drive high efficiency. They coach and develop colleagues and support the site’s culture and strategies to deliver high quality branded product in a safe environment.
Your first assignment will be on days as part of a production line’s day support team, where you will support issue resolution, maintenance planning and execution, and manufacturing systems execution following our “run to target” approach. Following successful completion of this assignment, you will be ready to take on a senior role in an operating team on shift. The plant operates 24 hours a day and our line technicians work a 12.5-hour shift pattern, including days and nights.
What We Offer You:
- Competitive Salary: You will join on our Level 3.1 pay of 40,113.84 per year. Once qualified, you will move to Level 3.2 pay of 43,366.44 per year.
- Shift Pay: Although your first assignment will be on days and therefore will not qualify for shift pay, your following assignment will be on shift. Our current annual shift rates are 9,048 for 7-day shift working and 5,356 for 5-day shift working.
- Flex4Me: This is an annual allowance for you to spend on physical, mental, financial and work-life balance wellbeing.
- Generous Pension: The Company will contribute double the amount you contribute towards your pension savings, up to a maximum company contribution of 14% of your pensionable pay.
- Annual Leave: You will start with 25 days annual leave entitlement (plus bank holidays), increasing with length of service up to 30 days.
- 1-4-1 Shares: For every share that you purchase, the Company will purchase a share on your behalf. You can contribute up to 2.5% of your salary into the 1-4-1 Share Plan, up to a maximum of 150 a month.
- Private Medical Insurance: Our Private Medical Insurance Plan provides eligible employees with access to private medical treatment, if they wish. Eligible employees can request for their partner and/or eligible dependent children to be included on their cover.
- Dynamic and respectful work environment: This role is based in our Manchester Plant in Trafford Park. There are bus and tram links near to the site as well as free onsite parking. P&G employees also benefit from a subsidised restaurant, free gym facility, Occupational Health support, and newly installed relaxation garden.
- Continuous coaching: You will work with passionate people and receive both formal training as well as day-to-day mentoring from your manager.
What We Look For:
- Evidence of technical mastery in a manufacturing setting.
- High level of hands-on mechanical aptitude.
- Demonstrated leadership experience and a passion for problem-solving.
- Strong verbal and written English language skills.
Right to Work: For this role, you will need to provide your own, continuous right to work in the UK from Day 1 of employment without requiring sponsorship from P&G.
P&G is legally required to ensure all candidates have the right to work in the UK from Day 1 of their employment. All applicants will therefore be asked to provide evidence of their right to work at the conclusion of the recruitment process as a condition of employment.
Application deadline: Please apply and complete our online assessments as soon as possible to ensure you don’t miss out!
