P&G is a leading company in the manufacture of Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG), making some of the world’s best loved brands like Gillette, Fairy and Oral B. Here in Manchester, we've been making P&G products at our Trafford Park site for the past 90 years and after some exciting new investments are looking to recruit motivated technicians to join our Pampers manufacturing team.

We are looking for skilled individuals with a proven track record of people and technical leadership in a fast-moving manufacturing setting to quickly take on senior technician roles in our production department. Senior technicians take the lead in diagnosing and resolving complex mechanical and process issues, executing maintenance and breakdown repairs, and collaborating with support departments to drive high efficiency. They coach and develop colleagues and support the site’s culture and strategies to deliver high quality branded product in a safe environment.

Your first assignment will be on days as part of a production line’s day support team, where you will support issue resolution, maintenance planning and execution, and manufacturing systems execution following our “run to target” approach. Following successful completion of this assignment, you will be ready to take on a senior role in an operating team on shift. The plant operates 24 hours a day and our line technicians work a 12.5-hour shift pattern, including days and nights.

What We Offer You:

  • Competitive Salary: You will join on our Level 3.1 pay of 40,113.84, which increases to Level 3.2 once qualified, which is 43,366.44.
  • Shift Pay: Although your first assignment will be on days and therefore will not qualify for shift pay. Your following assignment will be on shift. Our current shift rates are: 7-Day: 9,048 per year, 5-Day: 5,356 per year.
  • Flex4Me: This is an annual allowance for you to spend on physical, mental, financial and work-life balance wellbeing.
  • Generous Pension: The Company will contribute double the amount you contribute towards your pension savings, up to a maximum company contribution of 14% of your pensionable pay.
  • Annual Leave: You will start with 25 days annual leave entitlement (plus bank holidays), increasing with length of service up to 30 days.
  • 1-4-1 Shares: For every share that you purchase, the Company will purchase a share on your behalf. You can contribute up to 2.5% of your salary into the 1-4-1 Share Plan, up to a maximum of 150 a month.
  • Private Medical Insurance: Our Private Medical Insurance Plan provides eligible employees with access to private medical treatment, if they wish.
  • Dynamic and respectful work environment: This role is based in our Manchester Plant in Trafford Park. There are bus and tram links near to the site as well as free onsite parking. P&G employees also benefit from a subsidised restaurant, free gym facility, Occupational Health support, and newly installed relaxation garden.
  • Continuous coaching: You will work with passionate people and receive both formal training as well as day-to-day mentoring from your manager.
