P&G has had operations in West Thurrock, Essex since the 1940s and the site is of great importance for the company, making our household brands like Ariel, Fairy, and Lenor.
We are looking for experienced HGV Class 1 drivers to work out of our West Thurrock Operating Centre to support freight deliveries to customers and other P&G sites across the UK.
You will join a team supporting a 24-hour operation operating across Monday to Sunday. We are recruiting drivers to cover a range of night shift start times working a 4 on 4 off shift pattern. Shifts are typically 8 to 12 hours in length and will not normally exceed 12 hours. The role averages 40 hours per week, although actual shift length may vary to meet operational requirements.
Driver responsibilities include:
- Collecting loaded trailer (palletized goods) at P&G Plant (check trailer and secure load), delivering to customer, waiting until trailer unloaded and returning to P&G plant.
- Potentially shuttling between different P&G Distribution Centres in the UK.
- Picking up skeleton trailer with container, delivering to port, lifting off/lifting on container and delivering back to P&G Plant.
Competitive Compensation:
- Base Pay: £16.80 per hour
- Market Premium: £3.00 per hour for all hours worked
- Shift Premium: £4.00 per hour for unsociable hours, defined as: 17:00 - 07:00 (Weekdays), all hours on Saturday and Sunday.
- Overtime Pay: 1.5 times the combined rate of base pay and market premium for overtime hours worked from Monday to Saturday; 2 times the combined rate for overtime hours worked on Sundays.

Requirements:
- A current HGV Class 1 license and valid driver CPC
- ~2 years experience commercially driving Class 1 HGV
- ~Experience in palletized goods distribution
- ~No more than 6 points on your driving license and no Dangerous Driving (DD) or Drink Driving (DR) endorsements.
- ~For this role, you will need to provide your own, continuous right to work in the UK from Day 1 of employment without requiring sponsorship from P&G.
