This is an exciting opportunity for a graduate or an entry level applicant to begin a career in Human Resources within a business undergoing significant transformation and growth. Based in Gloucestershire, you will work alongside experienced HR professionals, supporting both operational delivery and strategic people initiatives. You will gain exposure to core HR disciplines including employee relations, talent management, organisational effectiveness, and colleague engagement, while developing the skills, knowledge, and experience to become a well‑rounded HR professional.

Key Responsibilities

  • Acting as the first point of contact for colleagues and managers, providing first‑line HR advice and guidance.
  • Supporting employee lifecycle activities including onboarding, probation, absence management, and leavers.
  • Leading on maternity, paternity, adoption, and parental leave processes, including advising managers and colleagues.
  • Monitoring, reviewing and reporting on absence data, identifying trends and supporting appropriate interventions in collaboration with managers and occupational health.
  • Managing the probation review process, ensuring timely completion and supporting managers with guidance and best practice.
  • Administering the Great Place to Work survey, analysing results and supporting the development and delivery of action plans.
  • Providing note‑taking support for formal HR meetings including investigations, disciplinaries and grievances.
  • Supporting the review and maintenance of HR policies, ensuring compliance with current legislation and best practice.
  • Assisting with HR projects and initiatives, particularly in areas such as engagement, wellbeing and organisational development.
  • Maintaining accurate employee records and ensuring data integrity across HR systems.

This is a full‑time position (37.5 hours per week) with a hybrid work schedule of 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home.

Who are we looking for?

  • A recent graduate (or equivalent) with an interest in developing a career in Human Resources.
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality.
  • Proactive, with a willingness to learn and take initiative.
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • An understanding of HR principles or employment law (desirable but not essential).
