Overview
In this role you own category portfolios across Upstream and Downstream in North America, driving end-to-end contract lifecycle management from strategy development to post-award performance. You work with cross-functional SMEs to ensure compliant, data-driven procurement that aligns with Cenovus processes. You will support the SCM Operations Category Management team with contract administration, RFx, and system-based governance. This position offers exposure to strategic sourcing and value delivery within a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Own category lifecycle including cost modeling, supplier analysis, and portfolio segmentation
- Execute sourcing initiatives per the annual plan in line with Cenovus processes
- Develop category strategies, lead RFx initiatives, conduct bid evaluations, negotiate, and manage post-award activities
- Oversee post-award contract changes, KPI meetings, disputes, claims, and close-outs
- Ensure documentation is properly stored in Contract Management Systems per Cenovus requirements
- Liaise with Legal, Risk Management, HSE, QA/QC and other SMEs for pre/post-award commercial activities
- Provide guidance to other staff and support SCM Business Value Methodology and strategic objectives
- Support supplier performance reviews and broader category initiatives
- Perform other duties as assigned
Key requirements
- Be legally entitled to work in Canada
- An undergraduate degree in technical or business discipline or equivalent experience
- Strong proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel)
- Excellent understanding of sourcing and contracting lifecycle
- Foundational understanding of P2P, Master Data objects and Master Data Governance
- Financial business acumen and data analytics/visualization tools
