What does this role involve? As a Cloud Engineer, you’ll be at the heart of our cloud transformation journey. You will design, deploy, and manage AWS, Azure or both infrastructure that powers production workloads across networking, storage, and application services. You will build resilient, secure, and observable cloud services using AWS, Azure or both technologies, ensuring our platforms are robust and future ready. This role spans the full lifecycle, from architecting and building new cloud services to migrating traditional infrastructure into a modern, scalable environment. You will be hands-on with infrastructure design, automation, observability, and cross-cloud security integrations, while collaborating closely with stakeholders to turn requirements into real-world solutions.

Who are we looking for?

  • Cloud experience: Strong experience in designing and managing AWS, Azure or both services and Terraform for production environments.
  • Migration: Proven track record of moving traditional infrastructure into the cloud.
  • Security & Observability: Understanding of best practices for building secure, monitored, and resilient systems.
  • Automation & CI/CD: Familiarity with tools and practices that streamline deployments and improve reliability.
  • Collaboration Skills: Ability to work with technical teams and business stakeholders, translating requirements into solutions.

Although the role is remote, we do require the team to come to our Chandlers Ford head office for team collaboration days. This role will involve on-call working on a rota basis (24/7). To be successful in this role you will be required to pass an enhanced security vetting process.

Technical environment:

  • AWS: EC2, ECS, S3, RDS, VPC, Lambda, IAM
  • Azure: Azure SQL, Azure Entra ID, Azure DevOps, Azure Container Apps, API Management Services, Azure Functions
  • Infrastructure as Code & Automation: Terraform / OpenTofu / Scalr., Octopus Deploy (or similar), CI/CD pipelines, Azure DevOps, PowerShell Scripting, Azure CLI
  • Scripting: PowerShell, Python, or Bash
  • Containerization & Orchestration: Docker, container registry (ACR)
  • CI/CD implementation: Azure DevOps Pipelines and YAML automation
  • Monitoring & Observability: Datadog, Grafana Cloud, OpenTelemetry, CloudWatch, Prometheus, Loki
