Support global payroll accuracy and financial excellence in a dynamic, multi-country pharmaceutical environment. Proclinical is seeking an Accountant to support the Global Financial Solutions Payroll team and Finance teams. In this role, you will focus on preparing transactional and accrual journal entries, reconciling payroll-related general ledger accounts, conducting payroll data audits, and contributing to various projects. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic, multi-country environment within the pharmaceutical industry.
Responsibilities:
- Perform month-end and year-end close activities, including preparation of payroll-related journals, accruals, and adjustments in line with company policies and accounting guidelines.
- Prepare and review reconciliations for payroll-related balance sheet accounts, ensuring timely resolution of open items.
- Manage hypo tax accruals and reconciliations, partnering with mobility teams on related matters.
- Support budget preparation and actively manage payroll purchase orders (PO).
- Collaborate with finance teams and accountants to address payroll accounting queries and participate in monthly calls.
- Assist Payroll Specialists with month-, quarter-, and year-end activities.
- Provide accurate and timely data for internal and external audits, supporting quarter-end, interim, and year-end processes.
- Lead or support balance sheet reviews and liaise with Controllership on requests.
- Develop and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) regularly.
- Recommend and implement process improvements in collaboration with payroll managers.
- Participate in ad-hoc finance-related projects and systems testing.
- Work with payroll providers to map new elements to the general ledger and understand payroll report linkages.
- Deliver monthly updates to the management team.
Key Skills and Requirements:
- Qualified accountant or equivalent accountancy qualification with experience in a multi-country, multinational corporation environment.
- Proven experience in accounting, finance, or payroll roles.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and multitasking abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a diverse, multi-functional, and multi-cultural environment.
- Experience handling complexity and ambiguity in a global setting.
