Senior Scientist – 12‑Month Contract (Stevenage)

About the Role

You’ll join the developability team, working hands‑on to profile and characterise biopharmaceuticals using a range of biophysical techniques. Your work will directly support early project teams and influence candidate selection.

Key responsibilities include:

• Planning and executing experiments to characterise proteins using biophysical methods (SEC, DLS, DSF, etc.)
• Interpreting and communicating data to multidisciplinary teams
• Maintaining high‑quality electronic lab notebooks
• Contributing to the optimisation of therapeutic antibody candidates

What We’re Looking For

• PhD (or equivalent industry experience) in biophysics or a related discipline
• Hands‑on experience with protein characterisation using techniques such as:
• Dynamic Light Scattering
• Analytical Size Exclusion / chromatography methods
• Differential Scanning Fluorimetry
• Mass spectrometry
• Strong analytical, organisational, and communication skills

Bonus experience:

• Automated liquid handling systems
• Antibody drug discovery workflows
• Surface plasmon resonance for protein‑protein interaction studies
