Senior Scientist – 12‑Month Contract (Stevenage)

About the Role
You’ll join the developability team, working hands‑on to profile and characterise biopharmaceuticals using a range of biophysical techniques. Your work will directly support early project teams and influence candidate selection.
Key responsibilities include:
- Planning and executing experiments to characterise proteins using biophysical methods (SEC, DLS, DSF, etc.)
- Interpreting and communicating data to multidisciplinary teams
- Maintaining high‑quality electronic lab notebooks
- Contributing to the optimisation of therapeutic antibody candidates
What We’re Looking For
- PhD (or equivalent industry experience) in biophysics or a related discipline
- Hands‑on experience with protein characterisation using techniques such as:
- Dynamic Light Scattering
- Analytical Size Exclusion / chromatography methods
- Differential Scanning Fluorimetry
- Mass spectrometry
- Strong analytical, organisational, and communication skills
Bonus experience:
- Automated liquid handling systems
- Antibody drug discovery workflows
- Surface plasmon resonance for protein‑protein interaction studies
