Proclinical is seeking a QC Microbiologist to support microbiological testing and quality control processes within a pharmaceutical environment. In this role, you will ensure materials are tested for microbiological contamination in compliance with agreed specifications, procedures, and timelines. You will also act as a subject matter expert for microbiological topics, contributing to the maintenance of quality systems and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct microbiological testing on materials in accordance with established specifications and procedures.
- Perform environmental monitoring and sampling as per the monitoring schedule.
- Qualify, maintain, and calibrate microbiological laboratory equipment (URS, IQ, OQ, PQ).
- Maintain microbiological laboratory quality systems and write standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Provide expertise in microbiological sampling techniques.
- Support internal and external audits, including preparation for regulatory inspections.
- Investigate deviations, raise CAPAs, and support analytical method transfers.
- Contribute to change control activities and data collection for periodic quality reviews (PQRs) and quality assurance performance indicators.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to meet production and distribution schedules.
- Perform other duties as requested by QC managers.
Key Skills & Requirements
- Degree in Microbiology or a related scientific discipline.
- Experience in a QC pharmaceutical microbiology laboratory.
- Proficiency in microbiological testing techniques (e.g., water testing, microbial limit testing, identification techniques).
- Knowledge of GMP guidelines, quality systems, and pharmaceutical manufacturing processes.
- Strong technical and scientific judgment with the ability to interpret complex data.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to build relationships across departments.
- Computer literacy, including proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Self‑motivated, organized, and capable of managing day‑to‑day lab activities with minimal supervision.
