Proclinical is seeking a dedicated Microbiology Technologist to join our client's team in Barnard Castle. In this role, you will perform a variety of biologically related activities, focusing on maintaining high standards of Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) and compliance with regulatory requirements. This position requires flexibility, motivation, and a commitment to continuous improvement and safety.
Responsibilities:
- Work collaboratively as a flexible and motivated team member.
- Follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Standards of Work (SW).
- Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and report any quality issues.
- Maintain a safe working environment and use safety reporting systems.
- Stay current with all training requirements.
- Participate in Continuous Improvement (CI) activities.
- Engage in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Corrective and Preventative Action (CAPA) processes.
- Develop methodologies for new or modified techniques and prepare written SOPs/Methods.
- Train junior staff as specified by the Team Manager.
- Create documentation, methods, procedures, protocols, and reports.
- Support investigations/projects within your specialism.
- Represent the department on major site projects.
- Prepare and publish reports/analyse monitoring data.
- Liaise effectively with Production/Quality Assurance (QA) and other groups.
- Support audit readiness activities.
- Provide active support during regulatory inspections.
Key Skills and Requirements:
- Minimum GCSE or equivalent in Mathematics and English.
- Preferred A level or equivalent in science.
- Proven expertise in Pharmaceutical Microbiology: Demonstrated knowledge in areas such as Environmental Monitoring or Finished Product Testing, with a preference for experience in a laboratory setting.
- Detailed understanding of Quality Management Systems and relevant legislation.
- Effective organization, communication, presentation, and influencing skills.
- Proficient IT skills.
