What does the modern apprenticeship involve?

This year’s Modern Apprenticeship will begin in August 2025 and will last for 4 years. The first year is mainly spent at college, where Apprentices will obtain SVQ Level 2 and a National Certificate in their chosen specialization. When not in college, apprentices will be on-site, learning their trade through various training methods, including \”buddying up\” with experienced staff.

During years 2 to 4, apprentices will work towards the SVQ Level 3. Training Coordinators will regularly monitor apprentice progress both in the workplace and at college.

We have three Apprenticeships available within the Company in the following specializations: 1 x Machine Operator at FTV Proclad International, 1 x Machine Operator at ITS (Innovative Tooling Solutions), and 1 x Machine Operator at DDL Pumps & Spares. If you have a preference for one of these specializations, please specify it in your application, although placement may depend on your skill set and company needs.

Entry Requirements

5 Standard Grades/National 5 including Maths, English, and Technical or Science subjects at 3/C (or equivalent such as an NC in engineering) or above, plus one higher is desirable. Applicants must be at least 16 years old.
