The job:
The Quality Assurance & Test (QAT) team work collaboratively in cross-functional teams, ensuring that the QA maxim âAll change must be testedâ is delivered, improving the quality of our clients' software and customer experience. This is done by discovering and preventing bugs to ensure that the software is fit for customer purpose. You will evaluate requirements along with User Stories, assisting in the planning out of your testing to a defined Test Plan, and participate in testing activities across a variety of projects, including regression testing our suite of IntelliPen pensions applications, prior to release. You will take part in test analysis, design, implementation, and execution in line with various standard test techniques. Whilst the bulk of testing is both manual and functional, you will learn and understand the breadth of test techniques available and apply the most appropriate for any change, including automation. Good time management and problem-solving skills are essential to this role. You should have a clear and confident communication style, and be comfortable representing QAT to the project team, including delivering bad news honestly but tactfully.
Hereâs what youâll be doing:
- Test, prove, and evidence that the software meets major architectural requirements.
- Ensure the quality of the system as a whole.
- Meet with stakeholders to understand the scope of testing within projects.
- Contribute towards Test Plans to detail the testing required.
- Write and execute test cases.
- Detect, evidence, and report bug issues.
- Prepare test progress reports that capture the information required by the customer.
- Collaborate with software developers and project teams.
- Test in different environments including web and mobile, using emulation tools.
Key skills and experience:
- A bachelorâs degree in a Computer Science or STEM-related role or equivalent.
- Confident at programming in at least one Object-Oriented language.
- Problem solving skills.
- Time management and strong focus on delivery.
- Team player and great collaborator, also self-motivated and able to work independently.
