We are seeking an inspiring Clinical Lead to join our Adult Community Nursing service to cover maternity leave. You will provide visible leadership across Guildford and Waverley, ensuring safe, high-quality, and responsive care. Covering 12 months from Nov 2026.
The post holder is responsible for the delivery of a safe and high quality community nursing service in a defined locality through the effective line management of the District Nursing and additional service lines teams, including recruitment, budget, appraisals, continual professional development, key performance indicators, compliance, governance, and HR matters.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities:
- To ensure the provision of an accessible, responsive, high quality, safe, efficient, and clinically effective locality-based adult community nursing service that meets the needs of patients and carers, and is aligned to the needs of the local population.
- To provide highly visible clinical, professional, and transformational leadership to local adult community nursing teams, professional partners, and stakeholders within each locality area and across the Guildford and Waverley Integrated Care Partnership (ICP).
- To work as part of the senior leadership team and triumvirate, including a GP Clinical Directors, Integrated Neighbourhood Teams and Adult Community Health Services area to ensure optimisation of resources, sharing of good practice, driving forward innovation, implementation of service improvement and shared learning.
- To form effective, sustainable, and good working relationships with local GP’s, Practice Nurse, Social Care, Mental Health, and other professional partners.
- To work with other Clinical Leads, Deputy Head of Nursing, and the senior leadership team to deliver the adult community nursing strategy, NHS and Company values and behaviours.
- To work clinically 20% of the week.
- Participate in the manager on call rota as required.
- Manage and lead a specific portfolio of services as agreed locally to ensure Procare Adult Community Nursing is delivered across Guildford and Waverley.
- Manage initial patient complaints and escalation as necessary.
- Locally agreed portfolio to cover specific areas such as Health and Wellbeing, Primary Care, Unscheduled Care and Night Response.
Qualifications:
- Registered Level 1 Nurse with current Nursing and Midwifery Council registration.
- Educated to level 6 / degree level in a relevant area.
- Evidence of level 7 / masters level study, or equivalent experience.
- Completion of DN SPQ.
- Clinically competent in areas relevant to adult community nursing as 40% of this post is clinical.
- You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
