The Role

As Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for proactively developing customer relationships, managing existing accounts, and generating new business opportunities across the UK industrial power systems market. The role focuses heavily on relationship-led technical sales within utilities, infrastructure, and industrial environments, positioning the business as a trusted solutions partner rather than simply a supplier.

Key Responsibilities

  • Customer & Account Management
    • Develop strong relationships with existing and prospective customers
    • Act as a key commercial contact for Industrial Power Systems products
    • Understand customer operational challenges, compliance requirements, and investment plans
    • Manage and grow a structured customer portfolio
  • Business Development
    • Identify and pursue new opportunities within the power backup and energy infrastructure sectors
    • Promote the company’s technical capabilities and engineered solutions
    • Work closely with the wider sales and technical teams to develop account growth strategies
  • Internal Collaboration
    • Liaise with Tendering, Design, and Production teams on customer requirements
    • Support smooth project handovers from order through to delivery
    • Provide market and competitor intelligence to support future growth

Skills & Experience Required

  • Proven B2B sales experience within electrical power systems or critical power sectors
  • Experience selling into utilities, DNO, infrastructure, manufacturing, or industrial markets
  • Strong relationship-building and communication skills
  • Commercially aware with a consultative sales approach
  • Comfortable operating within technical and project-led environments
  • Experience with engineered or capital equipment solutions would be advantageous
  • Electrical or power systems knowledge highly desirable
