As Tendering Engineer, you will play a key role in preparing technically accurate and commercially competitive quotations and tenders for complex industrial power projects. Working closely with Sales, Design, Production, and Procurement teams, you will ensure proposals are aligned with customer specifications, manufacturing capability, and commercial objectives. This is an ideal opportunity for someone with a strong engineering background who enjoys combining technical problem-solving with commercial awareness.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the preparation of high-value quotations and tender submissions
  • Interpret customer specifications, drawings, and technical schedules
  • Develop compliant and competitive power system solutions
  • Produce accurate cost models covering materials, labour, complexity, and risk
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Work closely with Design, Production, Stores, and Procurement teams
  • Ensure manufacturability, supply chain capability, and technical compliance
  • Support alignment between departments before tender submission
Commercial & Bid Strategy
  • Support bid/no-bid decisions with technical insight
  • Identify opportunities for value engineering and product differentiation
  • Participate in post-tender reviews and continuous improvement initiatives
Documentation & Compliance
  • Produce professional submissions for utility and blue-chip customers
  • Ensure all tenders meet customer specifications and industry standards
  • Maintain strong attention to detail and governance throughout the process
Skills & Experience Required
  • Engineering qualification/background (Electrical, Mechanical, Power, or Manufacturing Engineering)
  • Experience tendering within the Industrial power systems, or critical power sector
  • Understanding of electrical power systems and backup power solutions
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
  • Experience supporting utility, infrastructure, or industrial customers highly desirable
  • Strong analytical and commercial awareness
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Salary & Benefits
  • £40,000 – £50,000 per annum (depending on experience)
