An established and award winning UK housebuilder is seeking an experienced Site Manager to join their South West construction team. This is an excellent opportunity to join a forward-thinking developer with a long-standing reputation for quality homes and employee development.
You’ll be part of a supportive, customer-focused construction team delivering high-quality new build housing developments across the region.
Reporting to the Construction Director, you will be responsible for managing day-to-day site operations from inception through to completion - ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, on budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Key responsibilities include:
- Oversee all construction activities in line with NHBC standards, Building Regulations and company specifications.
- Lead and coordinate site teams and subcontractors to deliver build programmes efficiently.
- Monitor progress, budgets, and quality, taking corrective action where necessary.
- Uphold the highest standards of Health, Safety, and Environmental compliance.
- Conduct regular inspections and quality control checks, ensuring defect-free handovers.
- Work closely with internal departments and the Sales team to ensure smooth customer handovers and a first-class experience.
- Maintain accurate site records, manage costs, and approve subcontractor payments.
- Deliver toolbox talks and lead by example in promoting a positive, safe site culture.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Proven experience as a Site Manager within the housebuilding or residential construction sector.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate site teams and subcontractors.
- Comprehensive understanding of NHBC Standards, Building Regulations, and Health & Safety legislation.
- Ability to plan, prioritise, and manage build programmes effectively.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Full UK driving licence.
Qualifications (preferred):
- SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme)
- CSCS (Managers Card)
- NVQ Level 6 in Construction Management or equivalent
- MCIOB membership (advantageous)
The Package
- Salary: Up to £72,000 (DOE – Senior Site Managers considered at this level)
- Car Allowance: £7,565 per annum
- Bonus: 21% annual performance bonus
