We are recruiting on behalf of a leading medical and respiratory manufacturing business based in North Lancashire, operating at the highest global standards and supplying critical products to customers worldwide.
The Role
As Production Manager, you will lead a large, multi-skilled manufacturing team across assembly, cleanroom medical production, and injection moulding operations. You will be accountable for delivery performance, quality, efficiency, and people development within a highly regulated environment. This is a visible leadership role where you will work cross-functionally with Planning, Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain to ensure On Time In Full (OTIF) performance and continuous operational improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Operational Leadership
- Lead and develop a large manufacturing workforce, driving engagement and accountability
- Oversee assembly, cleanroom production, and injection moulding operations
- Ensure full compliance with regulatory standards (ISO 13485, FDA, MDR)
- Maintain safe, efficient, and high-quality production environments
- Own OTIF performance and ensure consistent customer delivery
- Align production with planning and supply chain for seamless fulfilment
- Act as the voice of the customer within operations
- Drive world-class quality standards and robust process controls
- Lead root cause investigations and implement sustainable corrective actions
- Champion Lean and continuous improvement initiatives to increase productivity and reduce waste
- Develop, coach, and inspire your leadership team and wider workforce
- Embed a culture of accountability, teamwork, and operational excellence
- Drive structured performance management and succession planning
- Support long-term production strategy and capacity planning
- Contribute to new product introductions and industrialisation activities
- Play a key role in ongoing site transformation and operational excellence programmes
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience leading large-scale manufacturing operations (50+ employees)
- Strong background in assembly and injection moulding environments
- Experience within medical device, pharmaceutical, respiratory, or other highly regulated manufacturing sectors highly desirable
- Demonstrated success improving OTIF performance
- Strong knowledge of quality systems and regulatory compliance
- Solid Lean/Continuous Improvement toolkit with measurable results
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage at all levels
