Type of work: Fully automated plant with state of the art equipment and technology. Planned maintenance 90% Reactive Maintenance 10%, On-going Project work and continuous improvement. The role is very much geared towards planned maintenance and project work rather than firefighting and is therefore challenging, interesting and varied.
Hours: Days role - 8am-5pm- 40hrs p/wk Mon-Fri (free parking on site)

They are seeking an experienced Mechanical Technician with proven industry expertise in chemical or in a similar process manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will be skilled in the repair and maintenance of plant mechanical systems, and ideally blending equipment, and batch processing machinery, with a strong track record in process improvements, preventative/predictive maintenance, and health & safety excellence.

Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and repair plant and machinery to a high professional standard
- Diagnose and resolve maintenance issues, implementing effective solutions
- Main equipment: Pumps, motors, valves, pipework, compressors, utilities, steam plant, instrumentation (basic calibration and checks)
- Maintain the planned maintenance system and CMMS records
- Organise and prioritise engineering workload in line with operational needs
- Co-ordinate maintenance activities with plant supervisors to meet deadlines
- Control and maintain spare parts stock levels, ordering replacements as required
- Support continuous improvement, lean manufacturing, and process efficiency projects
- Report daily to the Engineering Manager on workload and any operational issues
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment
- Always prioritise health & safety in all tasks
About You:
- Time served, qualified mechanical engineer.
- Proven mechanical maintenance experience within the chemical, adhesives or similar process manufacturing industry. FMCG, med/high speed m/f, Process industries etc
- Skilled in repairs and servicing of plant mechanical systems and machinery, blending & batch processing equipment - desirable
- Strong knowledge of preventative and predictive maintenance strategies
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a proactive, hands-on role
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and health & safety compliance
