We are currently recruiting for an experienced Highway Maintenance Scheduler to support a busy highways asset maintenance contract based in the Chester area. This is an excellent opportunity to join an established operational team working within a fast-paced highways maintenance environment, coordinating reactive, cyclic and planned maintenance activities across the network. The successful candidate will play a key role in scheduling works, allocating operational resources, monitoring live activities and ensuring client response times are consistently achieved.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Planning and scheduling reactive, planned and cyclic highway maintenance works
  • Managing live work programmes and responding to urgent client requests
  • Allocating labour, plant and operational resources effectively
  • Coordinating traffic management and permit requirements
  • Monitoring programme performance and identifying resourcing issues
  • Liaising with operational teams, supervisors and stakeholders
  • Supporting highway emergency and potentially winter maintenance responses
  • Updating electronic scheduling systems and producing reports
  • Using systems such as Confirm and StreetManager

Candidate Requirements:

  • Previous experience within highways maintenance, asset maintenance or reactive works environments
  • Experience scheduling operational or maintenance activities
  • Knowledge of permits, TTRO processes and traffic management coordination
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively within a fast-paced operational environment
  • Good IT skills including Microsoft Office
  • Experience using Confirm, Symology Aurora or StreetManager would be advantageous

Whats On Offer:

  • Up to £30.00 per hour PAYE
  • 40-hour working week
  • Minimum 3-month contract with potential extension
  • 25 days holiday plus 8 statutory days (pro rata)
  • Immediate start available
  • Opportunity to work on a busy and long-term highways maintenance contract
