Probrand is a proactive IT support provider based in Birmingham city centre. With decades of award‑winning technical expertise, we support over 400 organisations, helping them reduce IT disruption and control costs. We are seeking a Technical Presales Manager to lead our presale’s function, managing a team of experienced presales engineers while acting as a trusted technical advisor to customers. This role bridges sales, engineering and clients, ensuring high‑quality, commercially aligned technical solutions. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands‑on technical leader who can inspire a team while contributing directly to business growth. Hybrid working applies, with a mix of home working, team meetings at Alpha Tower, and customer site visits as required.
Key Responsibilities
- Overall ownership and leadership of the Technical Presales department
- Manage presales requests, workload planning and time allocation
- Line management responsibilities including recruitment and performance management
- Budget oversight and resource planning
- Attend client and prospect meetings (virtual and onsite)
- Identify customer technical and business requirements and design appropriate solutions
- Produce proposals, technical documentation and scopes of work
- Deliver internal and external technical presentations
- Collaborate across teams to support product development and service improvement
- Work to agreed KPIs and targets
Technical Knowledge Required
- Microsoft Ecosystem: Azure (IaaS, VMs, networking, Entra ID/Azure AD, RBAC, Conditional Access), Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, SharePoint, OneDrive, Intune & Autopilot Licensing (Business, E3/E5, add‑ons), Hybrid environments (On‑prem AD & Azure Connect), Server and Exchange migrations
- Networking: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, WAN/LAN design, VLANs, routing fundamentals, Firewalls (SonicWall, Fortinet, Sophos, Meraki, Palo Alto - conceptual level), MPLS, SD‑WAN, VPNs, Internet connectivity (FTTC/FTTP, leased lines, 4G/5G, Starlink)
- Virtualisation & Infrastructure: VMware vSphere, Hyper‑V, SAN/NAS storage, High availability & disaster recovery, On‑prem Windows Server & Active Directory
- Cyber Security: NIST, Cyber Essentials, CE+ MFA, Zero Trust, least privilege, Microsoft Defender & Sentinel, Backup & DR (RPO/RTO), Email security (DMARC, DKIM, SPF), Vulnerability management & patching
