We’re looking for a hands-on, proactive Manufacturing / Continuous Improvement Engineer to join our team. You will be joining a well-established manufacturing organisation, who have a solid and long-standing customer base, and we have lots of new work coming through too, despite tough times!

Working closely with our design, manufacturing, and quality teams to introduce new products efficiently, resolve production challenges, and ensure robust, sustainable solutions. This position is ideal for an engineer passionate about lean manufacturing, process optimisation, and delivering measurable results.

Commutable from Walsall, Brownhills, Sutton Coldfield, Lichfield, Tamworth, Aldridge, Shenstone, Kings Heath, Halesowen, Stourbridge, Aston, Birmingham, Dudley, Stourbridge, Solihull and Bournville

About the Role
  • Lead and support (New Product Introduction) projects.
  • Manage tooling orders and trials, including monitoring and pass-offs.
  • Create and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for manufacturing and assembly.
  • Collaborate daily with the quality team, suppliers, and customers to resolve issues.
  • Train operators on new methods, tooling, and fixtures for new product launches.
  • Obtain budgetary quotations for tooling and equipment.
  • Drive Kaizen and lean manufacturing initiatives, including SMED and 5S.
  • Work with the design team on Design for Manufacture (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) best practices.
  • Lead cost reduction projects and design modifications to improve processes.
  • Participate in Six Sigma projects to enhance quality and efficiency.
  • Prepare labour and tooling estimates for new job costings.
About You
  • Experience in a manufacturing or process engineering role.
  • Your knowledge will have been gained from within manufacturing.
  • Strong understanding of lean tools and continuous improvement methods.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of DFM/DFA principles and Six Sigma methodology desirable.
