This is an exciting opportunity for a Project Engineer to join a well-established company, with nearly 60 years of experience. The business is a growing company, who design and manufacture specialist equipment, across many different sectors. The role will be office-based Monday to Friday.
Package and Benefits
- Salary £34,000 - £38,000, dependant on experience
- 39 hours per week, with a 1pm finish on Fridays (there is some flexibility with start and finish times)
- 30 days holiday, increasing to 33 days with service
- 4x salary Death in service
Role Function
The Project Engineer will manage projects from order to delivery, coordinating cross-functional teams, ensuring compliance and maintaining customer satisfaction. Provide engineering support, oversee documentation and mitigate risks. Ensure clear communication of specifications and functionality while driving efficient project execution and continuous improvement.
Candidate Requirements
- Any experience across heavy engineering or material handling would be highly advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and departments.
- You must also be a person with the initiative and drive to see a job through to a satisfactory conclusion and derive satisfaction from a job well done.
- Demonstrates a proactive and positive attitude toward identifying and solving problems.
- Capable of working calmly and efficiently under pressure, while maintaining a strong attention to detail.
- Possesses strong prioritisation skills, balancing immediate tasks with long-term business objectives.
- Self-motivated and independent, with the ability to manage workload without constant supervision.
- Punctuality and reliable attendance are essential and expected.
Key Responsibilities (but not limited to)
- Manage the full lifecycle of sales contracts, including intercompany projects, from order receipt through to despatch, ensuring a smooth handover back to the Sales team for follow-up.
- Organise and facilitate contract review meetings with cross-functional teams to clearly communicate the scope of supply, critical deadlines, and key project objectives.
- Implement and control project contract variation by documenting specification changes, communicating updates to stakeholders, and securing customer agreement on associated costs.
- Identify short-term capacity limitations and proactively explore solutions to meet customer delivery expectations.
- Provide technical guidance throughout the project lifecycle and post-delivery, ensuring clear communication of product and component functionality.
- Maintain strong customer relationships by managing expectations, facilitating specification meetings, and coordinating factory acceptance tests where required.
- Create comprehensive contract specification packs, including finalised project details, supplier quotations, and customer drawings. Ensure all documentation is stored systematically to maintain a complete project log.
- Update production reports for all active orders, providing stakeholders with clear visibility of order status and project objectives.
