Contract Controls Engineer Automation / PLC / EAR Warwickshire / West Midlands

We are an established and well respected organisation operating across the Warwickshire and West Midlands region, seeking to recruit a Contract Controls Engineer to support our Midlands based operations.
This role offers the chance to work in a highly automated environment alongside a skilled engineering team, focusing on production optimisation, system upgrades and machinery integration.
The Role Controls Engineer
- As a Controls Engineer, you will:
- Support and maintain our onsite automated production systems.
- Collaborate with Maintenance, Projects and Continuous Improvement (CI) teams.
- Resolve automation issues and improve system performance.
- Take an active role in Equipment Acceptance Review (EAR) processes during machine buy offs.
- Assist with Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) as part of commissioning activities.
- Modify and program control systems using mainstream Plc platforms.
Required Experience & Key Criteria
- Strong Plc programming skills, ideally Siemens S7 TIA Portal (others considered)
- Solid background in industrial automation within manufacturing or process industries
- Demonstrable experience in supporting automated production lines
- Direct involvement in EAR processes, including FAT/SAT, commissioning and machine sign off
- Understanding of electrical schematics and control logic
- Excellent problem solving and communication skills
Contract & IR35 Information
- Contract rate: Competitive (DOE)
- IR35 status: To be confirmed, but currently expected to fall inside IR35
