We are recruiting for an experienced Lead Maintenance Engineer to join a busy industrial manufacturing environment in Wigan.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an electrically skilled engineer looking to take a lead role, combining hands-on maintenance with responsibility for supporting the wider engineering team and keeping production running efficiently.
Lead Maintenance Engineer Benefits:
- Β£50,000 - Β£58,000 (DOE)
- Premium OT (x1.5)

Lead Maintenance Engineer Duties include:
- Lead and support the electrical maintenance team across the site
- Carry out planned and reactive electrical maintenance
- Diagnose and fault-find electrical and control system issues
- Maintain and repair production machinery and associated equipment
- Assist with electrical installations, modifications and improvements
- Support preventative maintenance programmes and continuous improvement projects
- Help minimise machinery downtime and improve equipment reliability
- Provide technical support and guidance to other engineers
- Ensure all maintenance work is completed safely and to a high standard
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation
Lead Maintenance Engineer Requirements include:
- Time-served with strong electrical abilities.
- Recognised electrical qualifications.
- 18th edition.
- COMPEX (Desirable).
- Strong electrical fault finding.
- Supervisory experience.
- Excellent communication skills.
- CMMS experience.
This Maintenance Engineer position is commutable from: Wigan, Standish, Bolton, Skelmersdale, Ashton, Preston, and surrounding areas.
