We're looking for a Maintenance Engineer to join a long-established manufacturing business based in Shropshire, operating on a large-scale supplying their products across the UK.

You will be working at a manufacturing site with around 90 employees, and they are looking to expand their maintenance operations x2. As a mechanically bias Maintenance Engineer, you'll be responsible for keeping a range of heavy industrial machinery mechanically reliable, carrying out planned maintenance, breakdown repairs and fault finding across conveyors, saws, gearboxes, bearings, hydraulics, pneumatics and drive systems. You'll be hands-on, responding to breakdowns and working proactively to reduce downtime and keep production moving.

The role at the moment is straight days but will be moving to a double day shift in the future.

Maintenance Engineer Benefits:

Maintenance Engineer Duties include:

  • Carrying out planned preventative and reactive mechanical maintenance
  • Fault finding on production and automated machinery
  • Maintaining and repairing conveyors, saws, rollers and processing equipment
  • Working on bearings, shafts, chains, belts, pulleys and couplings
  • Maintenance of gearboxes, motors, pumps and drive systems
  • Fault finding and repairs on hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  • Replacing and aligning bearings, belts, chains and mechanical components
  • Carrying out lubrication, inspections and condition checks
  • Fabrication, welding and basic machining where required

Maintenance Engineer Requirements include:

  • Apprentice trained.
  • Mechanical engineering qualifications.
  • Mig and Stick welding.
  • Hydraulics and pneumatics.
  • Fabrication skills.
  • Experience working in a heavy manufacturing environment.

This Maintenance Engineer position is commutable from: Shrewsbury, Ellesmere, Wrexham, Oswestry, and surrounding areas.
