QUALITY TECHNICIAN / ENGINEER – ROWLEY REGIS

We are seeking a Quality Technician / Engineer to join our Quality Department. We are a busy manufacturing facility in the Birmingham area, and despite difficult times, we are thriving, making us a very stable place to work. If you are a detail orientated Quality Technician / Engineer who wants to be part of a friendly supportive team with a healthy long term future, we are the business for you!

Commutable from Birmingham, Rowley Regis, Cradley Heath, Handsworth, Dudley, Brierley Hill, Harbourne, Wolverhampton, Wombourne, Stourbridge, Walsall, Wednesbury and Great Barr

Responsibilities

  • Prepare Control Plans, Operator Instructions, and In-Process Record Sheets
  • Compile PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) documentation to meet customer and industry requirements
  • Conduct dimensional inspections using gauges, verniers, micrometers, height gauges, and more
  • Operate and preferably program CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machines)
  • Perform First-Off / Pass-Off inspections
  • Carry out thorough internal product inspections throughout the production cycle
  • Lead and support internal quality audits
  • Assist with 8D reports and root cause analysis to resolve non-conformances

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing/engineering quality role
  • Proficient in using standard metrology equipment
  • Experience with CMM operation (PC-DMIS or similar preferred)
  • Familiarity with PPAP, Control Plans, and FMEA documentation
  • Confident in leading and documenting internal inspections and audits
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 or other relevant quality standards
  • Strong problem-solving and documentation skills
