An opportunity has arisen for a skilled Welder & Fabricator to join a leading manufacturing organization with a worldwide reputation. This role offers the chance to be part of an established team within a company that prides itself on a friendly working environment. The Welder & Fabricator role is commutable from Blackburn, Burnley, and Preston.

The working shift is Nights – Monday to Thursday, from 10:00 PM to 7:30 AM.

Key requirements for the Welder & Fabricator:

  • Operate manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment
  • Use manual or semi-automatic welding equipment (MIG/MAG and TIG)
  • Welding must meet Fort Vale’s Quality and ASME standards (welders tested every 6 months)
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment
  • Handle weights up to 25kg manually
  • Use hand fettling/grinding tools
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, weld symbols, and procedures (WPS)
  • Potential contact with stainless steel dust and fumes
  • Mandatory ear protection during welding and grinding
  • Set up and operate fabricating machines (press brakes, rolls, shears, flame cutters, drill presses)
  • Fabricate and assemble sheet metal products
  • Operate machine tools (radial drill, end mill, edge planer)
  • Bend and straighten metal using hammering, chipping, and grinding
  • Must be time-served with proven experience in FMCG/Manufacturing environments
  • Skilled in welding and fabrication
