proAV are a leading global audio visual integrator, providing AV and event services across multiple client partnerships globally. We are looking for a Smart Workplace Business Development Representative to join our fast growing Smart Workplace business unit. The role is fully remote, however there will be an expectation that the candidate attends networking and industry events, as well as client and supplier offices with the unit lead. The role is entry level, and the candidate will be responsible for outbound lead generation, using a range of tools to identify potential customers, and book qualified meetings, ultimately driving Smart Workplace sales pipeline growth. Because this is a young business unit, the ceiling on this role is genuinely open. Prove yourself in the outbound seat and the path runs quickly toward a more senior, account-executive style sales role, running your own client meetings and taking on a wider range of responsibility, with the chance to grow your experience across a range of sales related business functions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify target companies and the right people within them to speak to, typically those responsible for workplace, facilities, or IT.
- Run outbound campaigns across LinkedIn, email, phone, and other channels, sustaining a structured daily cadence rather than sporadic bursts.
- Personalise every message against the prospect's role, company, and industry, quality over volume, standing out against the ten-plus messages a stakeholder gets that day.
- Book qualified meetings for the Smart Workplace Manager to run, working to a defined standard of what counts as qualified, not just volume.
- Ensure that activity and market intelligence is accurately recorded on the appropriate systems.
- Attend meetings alongside the Smart Workplace Manager early on, to learn how conversations are run and messaging lands in practice.
- Learn to operate our research and outreach tools (including AI-assisted prospecting), and feed back on what is and isn't working, you won't own the stack but your input on it matters.
- Build a working understanding of the buildings and technology market we sell into, and the products we sell, through structured onboarding and vendor training.
- Attend networking events, industry shows, client sites, and partner showrooms alongside the Smart Workplace Manager.
Desirable skills:
- Tenacity, comfortable sustaining output in the face of frequent rejection.
- Coachable, takes feedback on a proposed approach as routine rather than as criticism.
- Strong written and verbal communication, able to personalise a message quickly and make it land.
- Self-disciplined, able to structure a productive day working remotely.
- Initiative and problem solving, someone who works out a proposed way forward and brings it to their manager for a decision, rather than waiting to be handed the answer.
- Organised, with strong personal time management.
- Comfortable with data and numbers, tracking and adjusting activity against clear metrics.
