CNC Turner/Programmer Setter Operator based in Swindon. Salary £40,000 - £45,000 (inclusive of shift allowance). Attractive employee benefits plus unrivalled training and development. Hours – rotating AM and PM shifts Monday to Friday.
The primary purpose of this position is to ensure the safe, effective and efficient operation of the CNC Turning area while providing technical support within the manufacturing team. As a CNC Turner / Programmer / Setter / Operator, you will report directly to the Senior Production Engineers.
Main duties and responsibilities:
- Support the CNC Turning area in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the company’s CNC Turning machine centres.
- Program, set and operate the company’s multi-axis CNC Turning Machines.
- Create new CNC programs and modify existing programs to meet engineering drawing requirements.
- Interpret engineering drawings, specifications and work instructions accurately.
- Carry out first-off inspections and ongoing in-process quality checks to ensure components meet specification.
- Select, maintain and manage cutting tools, fixtures and equipment to ensure maximum machine efficiency.
- Ensure all tooling, equipment and work holding are maintained and readily available.
- Complete all required production documentation and ensure correct identification and movement of products throughout the manufacturing process.
Experience:
- Apprenticeship-trained or qualified in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering (or equivalent experience).
- Proven experience programming, setting and operating CNC Turning machines.
- Experience with Mazatrol/Mazak machine centres would be advantageous.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Experience using a range of measuring equipment and maintaining high quality standards.
