Accountant – TAX and VAT Location: Buckinghamshire (Hybrid – 3 days office / 2 days remote after training) Salary: £70,000 plus exceptional discretionary annual bonus & group employee benefits This global manufacturer and services provider seeks a highly skilled Senior EMEA Tax & VAT Accountant to join a regional finance team. This role is responsible for delivering accurate corporate tax, VAT and statutory reporting across multiple EMEA jurisdictions, ensuring all submissions are compliant, timely and aligned with regulatory requirements. You will work closely with internal finance teams, external advisors and cross‑functional stakeholders to strengthen financial controls, enhance reporting quality and support ongoing business initiatives. Key Responsibilities * Prepare and review UK and international corporation tax filings and tax reporting packs. * Calculate tax provisions, deferred tax and related journals under IFRS, US GAAP and local standards. * Manage VAT returns, EC Sales Lists and indirect tax filings across EMEA. * Oversee VAT registrations, compliance calendars and indirect tax controls. * Lead Intrastat and statistical reporting, ensuring accurate goods‑movement data. * Review balance sheet reconciliations, journals and month‑end tax schedules. * Provide information for internal and external audits. * Support process improvements, automation initiatives and finance transformation projects. Skills & Attributes * Strong analytical capability and exceptional attention to detail. * Highly organised with the ability to manage multi‑country deadlines. * Clear communicator able to explain technical tax matters confidently. * Proactive, self‑driven and comfortable owning compliance processes. * Resilient and adaptable in a fast‑paced environment. Qualifications & Experience * ACA, ACCA, CTA or equivalent qualification. * Minimum 3 years PQE in tax, VAT, accounting or compliance. * Strong knowledge of UK corporate tax, VAT, indirect tax and cross‑border transactions. * Experience with HMRC and international tax authorities. * Understanding of UK GAAP, IFRS and/or US GAAP. * Hands‑on experience with European VAT returns. * Strong Excel skills; experience with Oracle, Vertex, VVC or OneStream beneficial.
