This client is looking for an experienced, organised, hands-on Warehouse & Stores Operative to join a small, but highly knowledgeable team. Responsible for the picking, moving and allocation of goods in/goods out, working alongside the Warehouse Manager and wider team, you will play a vital role in ensuring materials and components are received, stored, and dispatched efficiently keeping operations running smoothly and customers satisfied across the UK and internationally.
Goods In & Inventory Control
- Receive, identify, unpack, and store incoming raw materials and components
- Maintain accurate stock records and workflow visibility
- Conduct weekly cycle counts and support annual stock takes
- Flag and report any inventory discrepancies
- Operate a Forklift Truck (Training is provided)
Despatch & Shipping
- Pick and pack customer orders with care and precision
- Build weekly consignments and ensure timely shipments (OTD is key!)
- Select appropriate packaging for safe international transit
- Use SAP ERP System to issue goods and generate invoices and packing lists
- Book couriers via online portals, ensuring compliance with customs/export controls, communicate professionally with customers regarding collections and shipping updates
Warehouse Safety & Organisation
- Keep the warehouse tidy, hazard-free, and well-organised
- Support a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement
Experience & Skills
- Previous experience in inventory management or stock control
- Comfortable with manual handling and heavy lifting
- Familiarity with incoterms, customs, and export/import procedures
- SAP and Windows Based Software skills and experience is a plus
