Location: This role is a hybrid role working with one of our Warehousing suppliers. Ideally you will be based in central England for this role.

Aim/Purpose of Job:
ProAmpac design and manufacture food packaging at their site in Ireland and outsource the warehousing and transportation functions to a UK service provider.
The role of Logistics Management for the site is to ensure that goods are delivered to the right place, at the right time, and in the right condition, while minimising costs and maximising efficiency. This involves optimising the supply chain to achieve the best balance between customer service and cost-effectiveness.
You will be expected to build relationships with the supplierβs senior management team, working together to develop continuous improvement strategies to increase efficiencies and reduce costs.
The role would be to maintain overall responsibility for performance level and cost-effectiveness of the service provider and any serious issues will be escalated to the Site Manager for appropriate action.
Main Duties:
Warehousing/Materials Storage
- Ensure full site compliance β including completion of self-audit questionnaire and BRC compliance.
- Check that our products are stored in clean, dry area, free of dust and segregated from any allergens
- Incoming goods β check procedure in place to ensure any damages are reported immediately and agree remedial action (uplift/re-box)
- Agree maximum pallet height and ensure incoming pallets adhere to this.
- Agree stocktakes (dates/times) and if attending.
- Manage supply of wooden (compliant) pallets and also pallet toppers.
- Organise site visits/audits on a regular basis, manage, attend customer visits/audits as required.
- Manage queries/ad hoc sorting of a particular product code by date of manufacture for example if stock to be quarantined.
Order Processing:
- Agree cut-off times for receipt of orders, including the delivery of incoming stock
- Agree and implement a system for streamlining of ordering processing to reduce/eliminate errors β though EDI
- Ensure special conditions (for example pallet height restrictions) are clearly communicated and visible on each order and adhered to
Transportation:
- Ensure goods are booked in with customers and delivery slots adhered to
- Monitor any missed deliveries/delays β ensure they are raised immediately and communicated to customers with remedial action
- Ensure any damages to be reported with supporting evidence and remedial action to be agreed
- Monitor performance, monthly record of delivery failures, access OTIF reports from portals
- POD notes to be accessible to relevant stakeholders
- Invoices to be provided in excel format in addition to PDF
- Full pallet loads/network deliveries to be invoiced separately
- Manage out-of-hours/weekend deliveries β agree protocol for delivery issues/failures
Managing Inventory β WMS
- Stock reports to be available and visible through portal access
- Must be able to see inventory movements (receipts & despatches) in addition to current stock holding levels
- Need to be able to download a summary of our stockholding at any given date in excel format
Supplier Performance Monitoring
- Organise system for the collation of data β picking errors, transport failures, create OTIF reports
- Assess performance monthly, arrange regular meetings with supplier and relevant stakeholders to discuss issues and suggest improvements
- Site visits β check the storage/condition of our goods inbound, in the racking and in preparation for despatch
- Establish clear lines of communication including out-of-hours contacts (for example set up WhatsApp group to include relevant stakeholders)
- Raise non-conformance reports and agree corrective and preventative actions when necessary
Commercial
- Manage services to the agreed commercial contract, escalating any deviation from contractual commitment of concern to Site Leadership, plus engage with the Sourcing Lead: (Indirects) to support any commercial negotiation needs.
