Position: SMT Operator
Location: Cramlington
We are currently recruiting for SMT Operators to join a well-established electronics manufacturing business based in Cramlington.
The role will involve operating and monitoring SMT production equipment, supporting PCB assembly processes and ensuring products are manufactured to the required quality standards.
Responsibilities:
- Set up, operate and monitor SMT production machinery.
- Operate ASM pick-and-place machines (experience preferred).
- Load and replenish components and materials into SMT machines.
- Monitor production processes to ensure efficient machine operation.
- Identify and report machine faults, production issues or quality concerns.
- Carry out routine machine checks and basic maintenance.
- Ensure PCB assemblies meet required quality standards.
- Complete relevant production paperwork and documentation.
- Work as part of a production team to achieve daily targets.
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment.
- Follow all company health and safety procedures.
Skills:
- Previous experience working within an SMT or electronics manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Experience operating ASM machinery would be highly advantageous.
- Good understanding of PCB assembly and SMT production processes.
- Good attention to detail and a quality-focused approach.
- Comfortable operating manufacturing machinery and equipment.
- Able to identify and report production or machine issues.
- Good team-working and communication skills.
- Able to follow manufacturing instructions and procedures accurately.
- Able to work efficiently in a fast-paced production environment.
- Reliable, flexible and willing to work rotating shifts.
Hours:
- Week 1: 6:00am - 2:00pm
- Week 2: 2:00pm - 10:00pm
- Rotating weekly shift pattern.
- Early finish on Fridays.
