Role Overview

The Electro-Mechanical Assembly Technician will play an important role in the assembly, integration, testing and continuous improvement of complex electro-mechanical equipment.

The role will involve mechanical assembly and fitting, electrical cabling, component integration, basic testing and fault finding, working from engineering drawings, schematics and documented work instructions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assemble and integrate complex electro-mechanical equipment in accordance with engineering drawings, diagrams and standard work instructions.
  • Undertake mechanical fitting, assembly, repair and rework activities as required.
  • Interpret electrical and mechanical drawings, schematics and documentation.
  • Carry out basic testing, fault finding and rectification of electrical and mechanical issues.
  • Take responsibility for the quality of completed work, including accurate documentation, self-checking and peer/buddy checks.
  • Work efficiently to agreed production and throughput targets while maintaining high standards of quality.
  • Support other areas of the manufacturing operation as required.
  • Assist with stock, materials and stores activities when required.
  • Contribute to Lean Manufacturing, 5S and Continuous Improvement initiatives within the work area.
  • Support prototype builds, product development and project-related manufacturing activities.
  • Work collaboratively with Manufacturing/Engineering teams on new and existing products.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, efficiency, quality and the working environment.
  • Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment.
  • Follow all company health, safety and quality procedures and policies.
  • Demonstrate the organisation's values through a commitment to integrity, innovation, accountability and teamwork.

Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience assembling complex electro-mechanical products or equipment.
  • Good mechanical and practical workshop skills.
  • Ability to understand and work from electrical and mechanical drawings, schematics, specifications and work instructions.
  • Basic electrical and mechanical fault-finding and problem-solving ability.
  • Good understanding of electrical and mechanical safety practices.
  • Ability to work accurately and efficiently with minimal supervision.
  • Able to follow established procedures and work to consistently high quality standards.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Comfortable using initiative and adapting to changing priorities.
  • GCSE-level Maths and English, or equivalent.
  • A strong general technical and electro-mechanical aptitude.
  • Experience of Lean Manufacturing, 5S and Continuous Improvement would be advantageous.
  • Experience working within a manufacturing, engineering or production environment would be beneficial.

Working Hours

Initially, the working hours will be:

  • Monday-Thursday: 08:00-16:00
  • Friday: 08:00-15:30

Salary

  • Β£30,000-Β£31,000 per annum-
