  • We are currently recruiting for a

Technical Administrator to join a permanent team in the Nottingham area.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced administrator who has worked within an engineering, technical, manufacturing, warehousing or logistics environment and is looking for a varied site-based role.

The successful candidate will provide essential administrative and operational support to the site engineering team, while also taking responsibility for spare parts, stock control, workshop and stores organisation, purchasing and customer communication .

The Role

As a Technical Administrator, you will be a key point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, supporting the engineering team with day-to-day administration and ensuring the workshop, stores and spare parts functions operate efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administration
  • Support holiday and time recording processes.
  • Liaise with HR regarding employment and payroll queries.
  • Assist with payroll amendments.
  • Support resource management, including overtime and shift cover.
  • Assist with continuous improvement quotations.
  • Carry out invoice checks using SAP.
  • Support third-party contracts, renewals and associated documentation.
  • Maintain site training matrices and records.
  • Provide customer updates when required.
  • Prepare quotations, spreadsheets and reports.
  • Arrange training courses and bookings.
  • Spare Parts & Stock Control
  • Identify technical spare parts and support the ordering process.
  • Manage delivery times, receipt of orders and stock put-away.
  • Maintain stock master data.
  • Monitor stock levels and critical spares.
  • Coordinate part repairs and liaise with suppliers.
  • Support obsolete and lifecycle part requirements.
  • Arrange shipments and deliveries.
  • Produce and maintain CMMS spare parts reports.
  • Support purchasing activities.
  • Workshop & Stores
  • Maintain workshop and stores organisation.
  • Ensure good standards of hygiene and housekeeping.
  • Order and control tooling and equipment.
  • Manage COSHH stock and associated documentation.
  • Maintain filing and folder systems.
  • Coordinate PPE and workwear orders.
  • Manage consumables and stationery.
  • Organise tool calibration requirements.

About You

The successful candidate will ideally have

  • Previous experience working in an engineering or technical environment .
  • Previous administration experience.
  • Experience with stock control and inventory management .
  • Experience working in a customer-focused environment.
  • Strong knowledge of

Microsoft Office , spreadsheets and databases.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good numerical and organisational skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • The ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • A proactive, self-motivated and flexible approach.
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
  • A customer-focused approach.
  • The ability to communicate confidently with people at all levels.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Fluent written and spoken English.
  • GCSE Grade C/5 or above, or equivalent, in Maths and English.
  • A full driving licence.

Desirable Experience & Qualifications

  • Engineering qualification.
  • NVQ in Business & Administration.
  • Health & Safety or Manual Handling qualifications.
  • Experience working within an engineering environment for 5+ years.
  • Experience using

SAP .

  • Experience within warehousing, logistics or supply chain environments.
