We are currently recruiting for an Engineering Support Operative to join a permanent team in the Nottingham area. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in maintenance, engineering support, automated equipment or a similar operational environment, looking to develop their career within a technology-led engineering environment. People with experience within Control Room Operatives or Technical Operatives or have worked within warehousing environment, who want a career within Engineering could also be a good match to the role.
The Role
- Carrying out preventative and reactive maintenance checks on automated equipment.
- Acting as the first point of contact when faults or errors occur.
- Identifying system faults, blockages and performance issues.
- Carrying out basic reactive and preventative repairs.
- Supporting continuous product flow and minimising downtime.
- Rectifying product and process-related issues.
- Supporting equipment hygiene and housekeeping requirements.
- Identifying and communicating continuous improvement opportunities.
- Following all Health & Safety procedures, risk assessments and safe systems of work.
- Reporting accidents, incidents and near misses.
- Working closely with the wider engineering team to ensure faults are communicated and resolved efficiently.
About You
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- Previous experience in an engineering, maintenance, automated or similar environment.
- Ideally 2 years' experience in a similar industry/environment.
- Experience with basic equipment maintenance.
- An understanding of automated equipment and maintaining system/product flow.
- A good understanding of workplace Health & Safety.
- Competence working at height.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem solving.
- Flexibility and willingness to learn.
- Competence using Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook, Word and Excel.
- Good spoken and written English.
