Proactive is currently recruiting for a Manufacturing Engineer to join a well-established and growing manufacturing business based in Mildenhall.
As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will be responsible for identifying process improvements, supporting maintenance and reliability initiatives, and assisting with the implementation of new manufacturing technologies and automation solutions. The successful candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and a continuous improvement mindset.
Responsibilities- Analyse existing manufacturing processes and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, productivity, and quality.
- Support the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives to reduce waste, improve workflow, and optimise operational performance.
- Develop and maintain preventative maintenance programmes to maximise equipment reliability and minimise downtime.
- Investigate production and equipment issues, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
- Create and maintain manufacturing documentation, including work instructions, process specifications, routings, and production records.
- Assist with the introduction of new products and manufacturing processes, ensuring smooth transition into production.
- Support equipment upgrades, modifications, and improvement projects to enhance operational capability.
- Work closely with production, engineering, quality, and maintenance teams to resolve technical challenges and improve performance.
- Monitor manufacturing data and performance metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Degree, HNC/HND, apprenticeship, or equivalent experience within Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or Electrical Engineering.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, machinery, and production equipment.
- Knowledge of preventative maintenance principles and equipment reliability practices.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively across multiple departments.
- Organised and methodical approach with strong attention to detail.
