Our client is seeking an organised and proactive Logistics Co-ordinator to join our growing team. This role is responsible for coordinating the efficient movement of materials, equipment and finished goods from suppliers through to customer sites, ensuring deliveries are completed safely, on time and within budget.
Working closely with Project Managers, customers, suppliers and third-party logistics providers, you will play a key role in planning transport, monitoring shipments, resolving delivery issues and maintaining accurate logistics records. This is a varied position that requires excellent organisational skills, strong communication and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced project environment.
The successful candidate will be a confident communicator who enjoys building relationships, solving problems and delivering excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities
Logistics Planning & Transport Coordination
- Plan and coordinate domestic and international transport for customer orders, project deliveries and supplier collections.
- Arrange cost-effective transportation using approved logistics providers, ensuring deliveries meet project timescales.
- Schedule deliveries to customer sites in collaboration with the Project Management team.
- Coordinate collections and deliveries while ensuring efficient vehicle utilisation and transport planning.
- Monitor transport costs and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce expenditure.
Shipment Management
- Track inbound and outbound shipments from dispatch through to final delivery.
- Proactively monitor shipment progress and communicate updates to customers and internal stakeholders.
- Investigate transport delays, damaged goods or delivery issues and work with logistics partners to resolve them promptly.
- Coordinate road, air and sea freight where required.
Customer & Supplier Liaison
- Act as the primary point of contact for logistics enquiries from customers, suppliers and transport providers.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with third-party logistics companies, freight forwarders and couriers.
- Ensure customer delivery requirements are fully understood and consistently achieved.
- Communicate delivery schedules, changes and potential issues in a timely and professional manner.
Inventory & Order Support
- Support stock control activities by monitoring incoming goods and outgoing shipments.
- Assist with goods receipts, dispatch documentation and inventory accuracy.
- Ensure order information is accurately recorded within internal systems.
- Work closely with warehouse and project teams to maintain continuity of supply.
Documentation & Compliance
- Prepare shipping documentation, delivery notes, commercial invoices and transport paperwork.
- Complete customs documentation and support import/export compliance where required.
- Ensure all logistics records are accurate, complete and maintained in accordance with company procedures.
- Support compliance with transport regulations and customer-specific requirements.
Administration & Reporting
- Maintain accurate shipment records, delivery schedules and logistics databases.
- Produce reports relating to delivery performance, transport costs and shipment status.
- Provide regular progress updates to Project Managers and senior management.
- Identify opportunities to improve logistics processes and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Skills, Experience & Knowledge
- Previous experience within a logistics, transport, supply chain or shipping coordination role.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Strong customer service and relationship-building skills.
- Confident communicator with an excellent telephone manner.
- Experience working with freight forwarders, couriers or third-party logistics providers.
- Knowledge of domestic and international shipping processes.
- Experience preparing customs or import/export documentation.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP systems or Smartsheet.
- Understanding of Incoterms and international freight procedures.
