Quality Inspector urgently required to work for a world leading Engineering organisation based in Aldershot. We are looking for an experienced Inspector who ideally has experience of inspection of aerospace and aviation compliant equipment. This is a critical role to the business and you will be required to conduct a range of mechanical inspection, document inspection results, input data into quality database, raising and signing release documents in line with QMS directives and customer requirements. This is an out and out quality inspection role that will require the use of micrometers, verniers, DTIs, height gauges, shadowgraphs, CMM, etc.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspection and approval of incoming/outgoing materials and products by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests.
- Reporting to Head of Inspection/QA any non-conforming materials/products.
- Perform first off, in-process and final inspection by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, communicating required adjustments.
- Read technical drawings, control plans, and specifications to understand the requirements of products and services.
- Document inspection results by completing reports and logs, summarising re-work and waste, and inputting data into quality database.
- Raising and signing release documents (CofC, Advice Notes, etc.).
- Keeps measurement equipment operating by following operating instructions and calibration requirements, and reporting to QA any faulty or out of calibration equipment.
- Communicating with the Quality/Engineering department about how to prevent similar defects in the future.
Skills and Qualifications/Experience
- A minimum of 3-5 years experience in a similar role (preferred).
- Strong understanding of quality control/inspection standards and testing techniques/methods (use of micrometers, verniers, DTIs, height gauges, shadowgraphs, CMM, etc.) (required).
- Strong understanding of technical drawings and GD.
