An experienced Commercial Manager is required to support the delivery of complex automation and engineering projects within airport and parcel environments. The role will focus on commercial control, contract management, cost management and change management across high-value projects. The successful candidate will have strong experience within major engineering or infrastructure projects, ideally within airport environments, and be confident managing commercial risk, subcontractors and stakeholder relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage commercial activities across large-scale engineering projects
- Ensure effective cost control, forecasting and cash flow management
- Administer and manage customer and subcontractor contracts
- Lead change management and compensation event processes
- Manage project variations including cost and programme impact assessments
- Support procurement and subcontractor management activities
- Produce accurate commercial reporting and project forecasts
- Work closely with project delivery teams to support successful project outcomes
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders
- Support continuous improvement and development of commercial best practices
Requirements
- Proven Commercial Management experience on projects valued over £10m
- Previous airport project experience, ideally Heathrow
- Strong knowledge of NEC3, NEC4 and MF/1 contracts
- Experience managing compensation events, variations and commercial risk
- Good understanding of project programmes and delay analysis
- Strong subcontractor and supplier management experience
- Excellent negotiation, communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work within fast-paced and complex project environments
- Degree qualified in Commercial Management, Quantity Surveying or related discipline preferred
- Membership of RICS, CIOB or ACostE desirable
