We are currently looking for a CNC Programmer Setter Operator for an experienced Turner who can programme online (at the machine) using Fanuc controlled machines; they will also need to set and operate the machine. We are willing to offer training for the right candidate, but they must have worked with CNC lathes previously and be able to set and operate.

We have a simple pre-screening test that we would like all potential candidates to complete prior to arranging interviews. This test will consist of point-to-point positions with G-code (G1, G2 & G3).

The two lathes we have are as follows:

  • Doosan Puma 2600SY II CNC lathe equipped with Doosan-Fanuc 0iTF Plus CNC Control System with Manual Guide 'i' with bar feeder. Live tooling with sub spindle.
  • Leadwell Turning Centre LTC-25i LVM with Fanuc controls single spindle C axis live tooling.

The rate of pay will be between £13-£19 per hour depending on experience. Hours of work are 7.45am to 4.30pm Monday to Thursday and 7.45am to 3.30pm on Fridays with a 45-minute unpaid lunch break each day, a total of 39 hours per week. There is also potential for overtime. Overtime payment is as follows:

  • The first 4 hours worked in excess of normal hours are paid 1.5 times the hourly rate, thereafter, hours worked are paid at twice the hourly rate.
  • Working extra hours on a Saturday, first 4 hours at 1.5 times the hourly rate, thereafter twice the hourly rate.
  • Working extra hours on a Sunday, providing the preceding Saturday has been worked, you will be paid at twice the hourly rate.
  • Working on a Bank Holiday will be paid at twice the hourly rate.
