Proactive currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Stores Operative to begin work for a leading engineering company based in Cambridge. Working out of their new state of art facility, they design, manufacture, assemble, test and ship bespoke printing equipment. Due to rapid company expansion and an ever growing order book, our client is hoping to recruit at least one additional Stores Operative to help ensure the quality and accuracy of the stores function is well maintained throughout this new and excited influx of work.
You will be responsible for:
- Taking responsibility for the reliability of the Stores business information system, ensuring that the Stores Team are fully conversant with the required data entry process, providing training, support and guidance as appropriate.
- Ensuring the Stores Team adhere to established stock control processes and procedures, keeping the information system up to date and reliable.
- Analysing stock reports, checking validity, investigating and resolving any discrepancies, and making adjustments as required, making suggestions for greater efficiency and improvements as appropriate.
- Participating in the team's general activities in selecting components and kits for production, selecting spare parts orders and assisting Logistics colleagues in the shipment of goods out according to agreed Stores procedures.
- Supporting the Senior Team Leader in the upholding and undertaking of safe systems of work and good housekeeping in all Stores and Yard areas across the Inca site.
The ideal candidate will be:
- An experienced Stores Operative, ideally with experience working within a manufacturing, production, or engineering environment.
- IT literate, and ideally have experience working with stock control systems such as SAGE scanning, printing off picking lists, etc.
- A pro-active person, someone not afraid to ask questions and who does not require micro-managing.
